opel C20XE (GSI 2.0 16V) engine swap in daewoo lanos 1.6 16V

Is this possible? To use my gearbox. It is F16 I think.
C20XE engine is that one from GSI, 110KW (150PS).

Is it possible to mount it on lanos?
What about ECU and other electrical wireing for like clima, etc...

The lanos has the D16 which nearly identical to the F16 and yes.... the C20XE will fit with no problem.

2.0L motor mounts were made by GM/Pontiac here in North America.

Our Pontiac LeMans/Optima came with either 1.6L or 2.0L depending on model.

Because these LeMans/Optima vehicles were Opel Astra MKII and the Lanos is based on this Opel chassis..... you simply need the 2.0L engine mount from the LeMans/Optima/Astra MKII that had the 2.0L and your in business.

The wiring harness and ECU is a whole other story..... that's where the trouble starts.

If I were you ...... and I was serious about the swap ..... I'd wire in a standalone system to take care of everything.

The XE will fit on the F16. The XE ECU and engine wiring loom are almost a standalone setup, there being only a few wires joining it to the chassis wiring loom. If you get the engine make sure you also get all the ancillaries like the exhaust manifold, airflow meter, wiring, ECU, etc.
With the XE fitted to the F16 it be very quick of the mark.

The old Lemans/Astra chassis used a mechanical spedometer right?

That becomes and issue with a Lanos since the ECU takes info from the Vehicle speed sensor and sends an output to the Instrument cluster.

Perhaps if you left the Lanos ECU in place it might still give you a spedometer reading ( it's not going to be happy with all the sensors disconnected but it might still work)

Even if the XE electrical is a standalone system like the new Optra/Aveo your still in for some work to get the Lanos wiring sorted out.

Airflow meter.... it sounds so wierd hearing someone talking about a Daewoo that needs an Airflow meter.... all our AC Delco and Delphi management systems use MAP sensors.

I suppose another option would be to get the MPFI wiring harness and sensors from the naturally aspirated 2.0L found in North America..... they are all over the place in the scrap yards. (they also used a mechanical speedo.... so it's still a problem )

Shouldn't have to worry. The engine in the Le Mans was an older design and of the sohc type. This engine is the twin cam. Thus there may be a chance that the speedo is electronic. What car is it coming from? If we know that, then we can find out if that car has an electronic or a mechanical speedo.

ok here is a suggestion and what u do is up to you, the lanos gear box canttake the c20xe power esspecially cause the cars weight is very light, it happened here alot in jordan that the gaer box is busted and breaks easy with the c20xe power and that the daewoo gear box isnt that strong. but for a fit it fits perfect with no prblem but the substance the both are made of is diffrent
